Yes, in 2004 the Ottawa Gathering will actually be held in Ottawa!
The Travelodge Hotel at 1376
Carling Avenue in Ottawa's west end has recently undergone a major face lift and will provide a wonderful
venue for our Gathering. Situated not far from major shopping districts and only 20 minutes to Parliament
Hill (and Lilliput, one of the finest full service miniature shops in North America) makes it an ideal
location for a Gathering.
The young (and young-at-heart) will find fun and excitement in the hotel's
indoor water park, featuring a 200 foot Monster Slide, a wave pool, hot tub and palm tree lined beach
area. Fitness facilities overlooking the Palm Garden and a cappucino/ice cream bar makes this waterpark
a place to remember.
There are rooms set up as "handicap access" (i.e. wide doors, easy bathroom
access) so if you use a wheelchair, please indicate this on your registration form. The hotel is completely
ramped and has wheelchair access to all areas. Those preferring a room on the main floor should also
indicate this on the form.

Coming from West of Ottawa, via Highway 417 - take the Carling and Kirkwood Ave. exit and the hotel
is on the right hand side, just past the first stop light.
Coming from East of Ottawa, via Highway
417, take the exit at the Carling and Kirkwood off ramp. You will need to get to the left hand lane
as fast as possible as you make a left turn at the first stop light, then another left turn at the first
stoplight after the overpass; the hotel is half a block on the right hand side.
From the American
border, take the new Veterans Highway 416 at Ogdensburg, New York, connecting in Ottawa to the 417 East,
exiting at the Carling and Kirkwood off ramp, then a block and a half to the hotel (half a block past
the first stop light.)
