The wicker sewing table is based on a table given to the instructor's parents as a wedding present in 1920.  It has a hinged lid and will involve working with a rotary tool with a grinding attachment.  Most of the painting is done in class. The instructor prepares the base and wiring.

Students will do the weaving, assemble the top frame and stain/paint the frame and the lid. Cutting grooves for the hinges, inserting the hinges and grinding nail heads to allow for flat closing of the lid will be handled by the students as well.
