WING-CHAIR, UPHOLSTERED IN LEATHER

JUDITH BLONDELL

This beautiful Wing-chair, upholstered in leather, will fit in any room, especially in a library or study. Sherlock Holmes himself would want it for his study.

Students will be given a partially assembled chair frame which will require some sanding to finish the shape. The front claw and ball cabriole legs will come pre-carved, ready to stain. The rear legs will need some sanding before staining. The formula for making the acrylic based stain will be shared in class.

The majority of class time will be spent on upholstering, and securing the buttons to the back-padding. The accenting with the decorative nails will be touched on briefly, and will be completed by the students at home because of time constraints. A tool to aid in the even distribution of the decorative nails will be available for a nominal fee.

The chair will be offered in two colours; oxblood (reddish brown) and black. Please indicate your choice of leather colour at the time of registration.

GAYLE BAILLARGEON

This kit will make a great Mystery Book shop (Death On Demand), Antique Shop (Den of Antiquity), Pub (The Old Silent) or Tea Room (Chintz & China).

This British made kit consists of four wall panels, a floor and roof. It is very simple to construct and needs no cutting. The top opens for access.

You will learn painting techniques for creating an exterior aged stone finish on wood as well as a painted tile floor and glazed interior wall treatment.

The sample is painted in a green and antique red colour scheme or you may prefer cream and dark blue.

All materials and tools are supplied.

If you wish another interior colour scheme you may bring two contrasting or complimentary paint colours of your own.

The ability to be fast and sloppy is an asset (actually more of a necessity) for this workshop.
